Stockyards Brewing opened in 2016 inside the historic Livestock Exchange building in the West Bottoms, restoring a space that once housed the Golden Ox, a legendary KC steakhouse. The taproom keeps the original mahogany paneling and stained-glass ceiling while pouring unpretentious craft beer and hosting free live music every Sunday afternoon—everything from bluegrass to outlaw country.
