About

Stroud's earned the first-ever James Beard Award for Home Style cooking and has been the KC go-to for pan-fried chicken since switching from BBQ during WWII rationing in the early 1940s. The kitchen still sends out the famous cinnamon rolls and rotating specials like Thursday's beef shepherd's pie, and the place stays busy enough that celebrities still make the stop when they're in town. There's a patio for warmer weather and the option to reserve a table.
